1 General Update
Ongoing changes to train times through Lewisham until 25th October

The work that has been taking place at Lewisham over the last few weeks is nearing completion. On Friday 24th October, the crossing that allows trains to run from the Bexleyheath line through Lewisham will be replaced.

This means that there will be some further changes to train times on Friday evening, however once the work is completed it will allow trains to start running again between Bexleyheath and Lewisham and the normal timetable will run from Monday 27 October (Trains will also run on Saturday & Sunday but will be affected by planned engineering work.

Until 21:30 on Friday 24 October, the following will apply

Trains between London Victoria and Dartford via Bexleyheath will be diverted via Sidcup calling at Crayford, Sidcup and Hither Green in both directions.

If you are travelling between London Victoria and stations between Lewisham and Dartford via Bexleyheath then you will need to change trains at Lewisham. Alternatively, you may use stations on neighbouring lines (via Woolwich or Sidcup) at no additional cost.

You may use your ticket on the London Underground between our London Terminal stations (Charing Cross, Cannon Street, Blackfriars and Victoria) at no extra charge to complete your journey.


There are also a small number of changes on other routes so we recommend that you plan your journey at nationalrail.co.uk to see how this affects you



** The changes below will apply from 21:30 on Friday **

- Lewisham station will be CLOSED for Southeastern services, although the Docklands Light Railway will remain open as usual.

For journeys between London and Lewisham, we recommend that you travel to Greenwich and take the Docklands Light Railway from there to Lewisham. Your tickets will be accepted on the Docklands Light Railway at no extra charge.

- There will be no trains between Lewisham & Barnehurst in either direction

Replacement buses will run between New Cross and Barnehurst / Dartford via Lewisham & Bexleyheath.
Alternatively, you can use stations on neighbouring routes (via Sidcup or Woolwich) at no extra charge.

For some journeys you may find it easier to use London Buses which again your tickets will be accepted on at no extra charge. Some recommended routes are detaled below;

Between Lewisham & Hither Green: Buses 225 & 273
Between Lewisham & Ladywell: Buses P12 & 284
Between Lewisham & St Johns, New Cross & London Bridge: Bus 21

At Kidbrooke station.
From Saturday 18 October, the ticket office at Kidbrooke station is being moved to a new location just off platform 1.
From Monday 27 October, the station approach road and station car park will be closed. Free car parking will be available in the car park off Ryan Close (approximately 100 metres from the new station entrance).
This is to allow for major redevelopment of the area next to the station, the work is expected to be completed within 3 years.

Between Hither Green and Petts Wood
On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 2355, Monday 20 October 2014 to 0500, Saturday 25 October 2014.

Engineering work will affect the following late night train services:

The 23:36 London Charing Cross to Orpington (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday only)
This train service is revised on departure from London Bridge at 23:44 and will call at Hither Green 00:04, Grove Park 00:07, Elmstead Woods 00:10, Chislehurst 00:13, Petts Wood 00:16 and terminates at Orpington at 00:19.
PLEASE NOTE: this train service will not call at Lewisham.
Passengers for Lewisham should travel by alternative train services.
Passengers travelling from Lewisham to Hither Green, Grove Park, Elmstead Woods, Chislehurst, Petts Wood or Orpington should travel by the replacement bus service that departs Lewisham at 23:48 and arrives Hither Green at 23:57, and change for the retimed 00:04 Hither Green to Orpington train service.

The 00:06 London Charing Cross to Orpington (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday only)
This train service is revised on departure from London Bridge at 00:14 and will call at Hither Green 00:26, Grove Park 00:30, Elmstead Woods 00:33, Chislehurst 00:35, Petts Wood 00:38 and terminates at Orpington at 00:42.
PLEASE NOTE: this train service will not call at Lewisham.
Passengers for Lewisham should travel by this train service to Hither Green and change for a connecting replacement bus service, which departs Hither Green at 00:34 and arrives at Lewisham at 00:43.
Passengers travelling from Lewisham to Hither Green, Grove Park, Elmstead Woods, Chislehurst, Petts Wood or Orpington should travel by the replacement bus service that departs Lewisham at 00:10 and arrives Hither Green at 00:19, and change for the retimed 00:26 Hither Green to Orpington train service.

From 0130, Saturday 25 October 2014 to 0230, Sunday 26 October 2014.
Some services will be replaced by buses between Lewisham and Peckham Rye.
Additional Information:
Due to Engineering work between Swanley and Rochester, Mainline services between London Victoria and Strood will operate along the Lewisham/Dartford via Sidcup line.
As a result, London Victoria/Dartford Metro services will not run, so there will be no train services between Nunhead and Lewisham. Passengers who wish to make this journey can do by travelling by train services to Lewisham or Peckham Rye and changing for local bus routes 484 or 436 between Peckham Rye and Lewisham. Valid train tickets will be accepted on these routes for travel in either direction between Peckham Rye and Lewisham.

Planned engineering work will take place
Between Swanley and Rochester
From 0140, Saturday 25 October 2014 to 0230, Sunday 26 October 2014.
Some services will be replaced by buses between Swanley and Strood.
Additional Information:
There are no train services calling at (in alphabetical order) Farningham Road, Longfield, Meopham or Sole Street.
However, there are replacement bus services, calling at these stations operating in each direction between Swanley and Strood; and Sole Street and Strood.
Furthermore, London Victoria/Ramsgate /Dover Priory services will run non-stop, in both directions, between London Victoria and Strood to connect with replacement bus services.
Unfortunately, there is a reduction in the frequency of train services operating between London Victoria, Bromley South, St Mary Cray and Swanley.
