3 FUTURE ENGINEERING WORKS
Engineering work starting on 11/05/08 at Basingstoke.
Track improvements and maintenance are taking place from 00:01 on 11/05/08 to 23:59 on 11/05/08 at Basingstoke.
Whilst work is taking place, buses will replace trains
between Alton and Winchester
between Basingstoke and Winchester
between Woking and Salisbury via Basingstoke
between Woking and Basingstoke via Farnborough Main
between Winchester and Reading via Basingstoke
All lines in the Basingstoke area will be closed all day. No trains will run between Woking and Winchester or between Woking and Salisbury. Train services to and from Weymouth will run via an alternative route between Woking and Southampton Central, calling at Guildford, Havant and Fareham. Trains from London Waterloo will start earlier than normal. Extra trains will run between Winchester and Southampton Central to connect with the altered Weymouth service. Train services will run between Winchester and Poole, with a Portsmouth portion separating or joining at Eastleigh. A connecting bus service will run between Alton and Winchester. A bus service will run between Basingstoke and Winchester. A near normal train service will run west of Salisbury to and from Yeovil Junction, Exeter and the West of England. Replacement buses will run between Woking and Salisbury to connect. Two trains an hour will run for most of the day between London Waterloo and Alton to provide connections with the buses between Alton and Winchester. There will be no Basingstoke portion on this service. Replacement buses will run between Woking and Basingstoke. CrossCountry trains between Bournemouth and the North will either run via an alternative route between Reading and Southampton Central or will not run south of Reading. A bus service will run between Winchester, Basingstoke and Reading to connect with these trains. Buses will replace First Great Western trains between Basingstoke and Reading. Overnight services between 2300 and 0530 are always liable to alteration, either for planned overnight maintenance work or to allow emergency repairs to be made to the railway. 2 GENERAL UPDATES
Service alterations Saturday Night Sunday Morning 10th/11th May
2305 (Saturday evening) London Waterloo to Poole will only run as far as Southampton Central. Replacement bus services will run from Southampton Central to Poole.
0005 (Sunday morning) London Waterloo to Bournemouth will only run as far as Southampton Central. Replacement bus services will run from Southampton Central to Bournemouth.
0105 (Sunday morning) London Waterloo to Southampton Central will only run as far as Woking and will also call at Guildford (0158). Replacement bus services will run from Woking to Farnborough and to Southampton Central.
Parts of the railway may be closed for overnight engineering work or emergency repairs. We may then have to alter some late evening and early morning trains or replace them by buses at short notice. Please check your journey details for late alterations if you intend to travel after 2300 or before 0530.
We are sorry that cycles, prams and items of bulky luggage cannot be carried on buses or taxis provided to replace train services during engineering work.

SHEPHERDS BUSH CENTRAL LINE STATION: Closed until mid-October for refurbishment work. A rail replacement bus service operates between Shepherds Bush Central line station, from the taxi rank outside the station, and White City station bus stop "B". Journey times may be increased by up to 20 minutes. Oyster card pay as you go holders should use the free replacement bus service or the 148 bus to Holland Park and Notting Hill Gate.

BOROUGH STATION: Reduced lift service at Borough until late September for lift refurbishment work. BANK AND MONUMENT STATIONS: Until summer 2009, there is no interchange at Bank and Monument stations except between the DLR and Northern lines. This is due to major escalator replacement works. Please use alternative interchange stations. If you travel to the Bank and Monument areas you may find it easier to use nearby alternative stations such as Cannon Street, London Bridge, Mansion House and Moorgate. Local bus services 21, 43, 133 and 141 operate between London Bridge and Moorgate stations calling at Bank and Monument. PLEASE NOTE: During morning and evening peaks some Central and/or Northern line trains may not stop at Bank in order to prevent overcrowding.
