TransPennine Express services are unable to operate between Preston and Carlisle.
You cannot travel bytrain-there are no trains running.
A limited replacement busservice will operate.
As a result, the following routes are subject to short notice delays and cancellations in both directions on 04/11/2025:
Liverpool Lime Street Glasgow Central: Services will operate only between Liverpool Lime Street and Preston.
Manchester Airport Edinburgh: Services will operate between Manchester Airport and Oxenholme, and between Carlisle and Edinburgh.
Manchester Airport Glasgow Central: Services will operate between Manchester Airport and Oxenholme, and between Carlisle and Glasgow.
What should I do?
As a result of the significant disruption, we strongly advise you to avoid travelling if you can.
There will be an amended service in place on the West Coast Mainline with a limited capacity on Tuesday 04.11.25 but because of the major disruption you may be heavily delayed and/or experience severe overcrowding.
