Customer Advice

Your ticket can be used at no extra cost on the following services in any/either direction:

-The two CrossCountry services operating before and after your cancelled service
-Grand Central services between York and Sunderland; changing there for Tyne & Wear Metro services to Newcastle.
-TransPennine Express services between York and Middlesbrough; changing for Northern Rail services towards Newcastle.
-Northern Rail services between Newcastle and Carlisle; for onward Avanti West Coast/TransPennine Express services to Edinburgh.
-Avanti West Coast and TransPennine Express services between Edinburgh and Preston/Birmingham New Street (where available).
-Northern Rail services on any route where services are available for onward connections to the above routes (including the Middlesbrough - Darlington route).
-LNER services between York and Edinburgh (LNER services can divert around this issue)
-ScotRail services between Glasgow Central/Queen Street and Edinburgh.

We have requested replacement road transport to run between York and Newcastle. You may use these services at no additional cost when these become available - ETA is to be confirmed.

All road transport will be fully accessible. If you are a disabled customer requiring further assistance for your disrupted journey, please speak to railway station staff or use the customer help points if the station is unstaffed.
