Between London Paddington/Reading/Swindon and Newport South Wales/Cardiff Central/Swansea via Bristol Parkway

Planned engineering work will take place between London Paddington/Reading/Swindon and Newport South Wales/Cardiff Central/Swansea via Bristol Parkway from 00:01, Sunday 19 May 2024 to 14:30, Sunday 19 May 2024.
Some lines will be blocked.

Additional Information

Until 1245 (departing 1220) London Paddington to Swansea and 1127 Carmarthen to London Paddington (inclusive), trains between London Paddington and south Wales will be diverted between Swindon and Newport, not calling at Bristol Parkway.

Trains TO South Wales will depart EARLIER from London Paddington, Reading and Swindon.

Replacement buses will run between Bristol Parkway and Newport.
Passengers travelling between London Paddington/Reading/Swindon and Bristol Parkway should, where no through train exists, travel via Bristol Temple Meads.

In addition:

* The 0858 Bristol Parkway to Swansea will start from Newport at 0925. Passengers travelling from Bristol Parkway should use a later replacement bus (at 0955) to Newport, for a later rail connection from Newport to Cardiff Central and Swansea
* The 0955 Bristol Parkway to London Paddington will depart EARLIER at 0950 and call additionally at Didcot Parkway

Between London Paddington/Slough/Maidenhead and Reading/Didcot Parkway/Oxford

Planned engineering work will take place between London Paddington/Slough/Maidenhead and Reading/Didcot Parkway/Oxford from 07:15, Sunday 19 May 2024 to 04:00, Monday 20 May 2024.
Some lines will be blocked.

Additional Information

All day, most High Speed trains to and from London Paddington will be retimed. Many trains will depart EARLIER than usual.

Most fast trains between London Paddington and Oxford will not run (trains between London Paddington / Oxford and North Cotswolds stations WILL continue to run, but will not call at Radley). Additional trains will run between Didcot Parkway, Radley and Oxford.

Trains between London Paddington and Swindon / Bristol Parkway / Cardiff Central will call additionally at Slough, Maidenhead and Twyford.

All day, most local stopping trains from London Paddington to Reading and Didcot Parkway will only run between Reading and Didcot Parkway. Passengers at Slough, Maidenhead and Twyford should use services running between London Paddington and Swindon / Bristol Parkway / Cardiff Central (see above).

Between Bristol Temple Meads/Filton Abbey Wood/Patchway and Severn Tunnel Jn/Newport South Wales/Cardiff Central

Planned engineering work will take place between Bristol Temple Meads/Filton Abbey Wood/Patchway and Severn Tunnel Jn/Newport South Wales/Cardiff Central from 08:00, Sunday 19 May 2024 to 15:00, Sunday 19 May 2024.
Some lines will be blocked.

Additional Information

Trains between Bristol Temple Meads (or beyond) and Cardiff Central will either:

* be diverted to terminate at/start from Bristol Parkway and will not serve Patchway or stations in south Wales, or
* not run between Bristol Temple Meads and Cardiff Central

Limited replacement buses will run between Bristol Parkway and Newport. Some buses will call at Patchway and Severn Tunnel Junction.
Alternative rail connections will be available between Newport and Cardiff Central.
