Improvement Work

Between Bristol Temple Meads/Filton Abbey Wood/Patchway and Severn Tunnel Jn/Newport South Wales/Cardiff Central

Planned engineering work will take place between Bristol Temple Meads/Filton Abbey Wood/Patchway and Severn Tunnel Jn/Newport South Wales/Cardiff Central from 21:15, Saturday 18 May 2024 to 01:00, Sunday 19 May 2024.
Some lines will be blocked.

Additional Information

Late evening trains between Bristol Temple Meads and Cardiff Central will be amended as follows:

* The 1650 Penzance (2128 Bristol Temple Meads) to Cardiff Central will be diverted after Filton Abbey Wood to terminate at Bristol Parkway. Change at Bristol Temple Meads for a later rail connection to Patchway and Severn Tunnel Junction, and at Bristol Parkway for an alternative rail connection to Newport and Cardiff Central.
* The 2023 Portsmouth Harbour to Cardiff Central will terminate at Bristol Temple Meads. A replacement bus will run from Bristol Temple Meads to Cardiff Central.

* The 2159 & 2247 Cardiff Central to Bristol Temple Meads will not run. Replacement buses will run instead.

In some cases, passengers will need to use alternative scheduled rail services rather than the replacement buses. Please check your journey at nationalrail.co.uk

This work continues until approximately 1430 on Sunday 19 May - see separate item for full details.
