A freight train locomotive has broken down on the line between Trowbridge and Chippenham. Engineers from the freight company are trying to fix the locomotive, but until they do we are unable to run trains between Trowbridge and Chippenham, as it is a single line, we cannot run trains in either direction.

Where possible we will divert our services via an alternative route, which will add around 15 minutes to journey times, but means trains will be unable to stop at Melksham.

We have requested replacement road transport to run between Westbury and Chippenham via Trowbridge and Melksham in place of cancelled or diverted trains. Please check the stations Onward Travel Information poster and wait for the replacement road transport at the designated stop. Before getting in any taxi vehicle please check with the driver that they are working on behalf of GWR, the driver should not ask for payment.
