Planned engineering work will take place between London Paddington/Reading and Bath Spa/Bristol Temple Meads/Bristol Parkway via Didcot Parkway and Swindon on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 22:45, Monday 29 April 2024 to 02:00, Friday 03 May 2024.
Some lines will be blocked.

On Monday 29 April to Thursday 2 May:
The 2249 London Paddington to Swansea will be diverted after Swindon to call additionally at Chippenham 0013 and at Bath Spa to set down only at 0023, then will run approximately 25 minutes later from Bristol Parkway to Swansea.

The 2314 London Paddington to Oxford will call additionally at Didcot Parkway 0024 and arrive 7 minutes later at Oxford at 0041.

The 2332 London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads will be diverted after Reading to run non-stop to Bath Spa, not calling at Didcot Parkway, Swindon or Chippenham. Passengers for these stations should travel on the 2314 from London Paddington to Oxford (calling additionally at Didcot Parkway). A replacement bus will from Didcot Parkway at 0020 to Swindon 0110 and Chippenham 0150.
(Passengers travelling FROM Didcot Parkway, Swindon and Chippenham TO Bath Spa or Bristol Temple Meads will need to travel EARLIER on the 2228 London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads, which will run normally).

Train services between Bristol Parkway and Cardiff Central may be cancelled, delayed or diverted.

We're sorry for the delay to your journey.

The Severn Tunnel is currently closed while Network Rail carry out a safety inspection after reports of water running down the walls of the tunnel. At this time we do not have an estimate for when this will be completed.

While we are unable to run trains through the tunnel, you may use your ticket, at no extra cost on CrossCountry services between Bristol Temple Meads/Bristol Parkway and Cheltenham Spa, where you can change for CrossCountry and Transport for Wales services towards Cardiff Central. You can use the same routing in reverse if you are travelling from South Wales towards Bristol.

If you are travelling between London Paddington, Reading, Swindon and South Wales you can travel on Cheltenham Spa services and change at Gloucester for CrossCountry and Transport for Wales services towards South Wales.
