Due to a speed restriction over defective track between Reading and London Paddington fewer trains are able to run on the London Paddington bound local stopping line.
We're sorry for the delay to your journey today. Following a safety inspection of the track in the Twyford area, a speed restriction has had to be implemented on some lines. Network Rail advise that due to the nature of the fault found, this disruption will last until the end of the day.

In order to avoid the speed restriction, both ours & other operators local stopping trains will need to share the high speed lines with our high speed long distance trains that run between Reading and London Paddington. This will cause some delay due to congestion, much like a lane closure on a motorway.
