Between Durham/Stockton and Billingham

Planned engineering work will take place between Durham/Stockton and Billingham on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, from 06:30, Sunday 03 August 2025 to 13:00, Friday 08 August 2025.
All lines will be blocked.
Some services will be diverted and revised.
The 06:22 Saltburn to Carlisle service will be diverted to call additionally at Hartlepool, Seaham, Sunderland and Heworth, and will not call at Allens West, Dinsdale, Darlington, Durham and Chester-le-Street.
The 07:22 Saltburn to Newcastle service will be diverted to call additionally at Hartlepool, Seaham, Sunderland and Heworth, and will not call at Allens West, Dinsdale, Darlington, Durham and Chester-le-Street.

Customer Advice:
Normal journey times are extended by approximately 45 minutes. Please allow extra time for your journey.

Due to urgent repairs to a bridge at South Bank:
How does it affect your service:
Train services running through this station will be running non stop between Middlesbrough and Redcar Central. South Bank will not be served. Disruption is expected until 16:00 31/12.
Our advice to our customers:
Services between Middlesbrough and Saltburn are currently being disrupted due to an unsafe footbridge at South Bank.
Effect on service:
Middlesbrough to Saltburn services will not call at South Bank, in this direction only.
Road Transport details.
To assist customers to complete their journey, a shuttle bus has been provided between Middlesbrough, South Bank & Redcar Central. This will be operated by E-Travel.
Customers at South Bank travelling towards Saltburn should board the shuttle service and then connect at Redcar Central for Northern services towards Saltburn.
Journey times will be extended by 10 minutes whilst travelling by road transport.

Significant Disruptions

Changes to services to/from Stockport - Saturday 2nd August until Friday 22nd August

Network Rail are rebuilding the Greek Street roundabout bridge at Stockport and all railway lines through Stockport station will be closed from Saturday 2nd until Friday 22nd August 2025.

The following routes will be disrupted...

Buxton - Rail replacement bus services will operate between Manchester Piccadilly and Hazel Grove. Trains continue to operate between Hazel Grove and Buxton.
Stoke-on-Trent - Rail replacement bus services will operate between Manchester and Stockport and between Stockport and Stoke-on-Trent.
Alderley Edge via Handforth - Rail replacement bus services will operate between Manchester and Stockport and between Stockport to Wilmslow via Handforth.
Crewe via Manchester Airport - no rail replacement bus services will be provided.
Chester via Altrincham - Train services will run between Altrincham and Chester. Rail replacement bus services will operate on Sunday only.
Hope Valley - No rail bus services will be provided.
Stalybridge - no rail bus services will be provided.
