If you decide to travel from a different station due to this disruption and need to return to that station later, you will also be able to use your existing ticket to do this at no extra cost

How does this affect my journey?
Train services are unable to run between Stockport and Wilmslow (in this direction only).
Services on the following routes will be affected by this disruption:
Between Manchester Piccadilly and Crewe via Stockport.
Between Manchester Piccadilly and Alderley Edge.

Northern services between Manchester Piccadilly and Crewe via Manchester Airport are not affected.

What should I do?
You can travel on the next Northern service to your destination, where available.

Customers at Levenshulme and Heaton Chapel can travel on services towards Manchester Piccadilly for alternative services via Manchester Airport for stations to Crewe,
Customers can also travel on services towards Wilmslow for an alternative service for Handforth.

You can travel on the following operators and routes at no extra cost:
Avanti West Coast services between Manchester Piccadilly and Wilmslow.
Bee Network Bus services on the following buses: 312, 313, 368 and 42C.

Please note that other train operators may also be affected by disruption please check your whole journey before travelling.

Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.

Road transport
Road transport will be operated by Phantom as follows:
From Stockport to Wilmslow, calling at Cheadle Hulme, Handforth at 15:20, 16:00, 17:00 and 18:00.

Please check station information posters for the location of the bus pick up points and be advised that bicycles, e-bikes and dogs (excluding service dogs) are not permitted on replacement road transport. Journey times will be extended by up to 60 minutes when using road replacement transport.
