What's happened?
Due to a fire next to the track at Manchester Oxford road, all lines are blocked and the station has been evacuated. Trains are currently unable to run through Manchester Oxford road in both directions.
How does this affect my journey?
The following routes are affected:-
Manchester Airport-Glasgow Central/Edinburgh in both directions
Liverpool Lime Street-Cleethorpes in both directions
Manchester Airport-Redcar Central in both directions
What should I do?
Customers at Liverpool Lime Street can use their ticket at no extra cost and travel on TransPennine express towards Manchester Victoria
Customers at Manchester Piccadilly/Manchester Oxford Road are advised to use the free city bus to Manchester Victoria and change there for onward connections towards Liverpool.
You can use your ticket at no extra cost on MetroLink services between Manchester Central Zone and Manchester Airport
When the line re-opens you can use your ticket at no extra cost on the following services:-
East Midlands Railway between Sheffield and Liverpool Lime Street in both directions
Northern services between Manchester Airport and Preston
Avanti West coast services between Preston and Glasgow Central/Edinburgh
Customers affected by this issue can also use their tickets dated 23/06/2025 on 24/06/2025
