Improvement Works reported
Planned engineering work will take place between Morecambe and Preston, and between Carlisle and Lancaster via Millom from 21:15, Saturday 12 July 2025 to 06:20, Monday 14 July 2025.
All lines will be blocked.
Some services will be terminating at Millom and restarting from Whitehaven and replaced by buses between Barrow-In-Furness and Whitehaven.
SATURDAY
The 2221 Morecambe to Preston service will terminate at Lancaster. Onward services are available.
An additional service will be provided from Lancaster to Barrow-in-Furness, departing Barrow at 2240.
SUNDAY
Lancaster/Barrow-in-Furness Millom/Carlisle: Trains will run between Lancaster and Barrow-in-Furness/Millom, and between Whitehaven and Carlisle.
Carlisle/Millom Barrow-in-Furness/Lancaster: Trains will run between Carlisle and Whitehaven, and between Millom/Barrow-in-Furness and Lancaster.
Buses will be provided between Barrow-in-Furness and Whitehaven (in both directions).

Normal journey times are extended by approximately 90 minutes. Please allow extra time for your journey.
