Due to a fault with the signalling system earlier today between Carluke and Lanark disruption is expected until 10:30 07/03.
Impact:
Train services between Glasgow Central and Lanark are returning to normal but some services will still be cancelled, delayed or revised.

Option 2 - Alternative Routes & Local Public Transport..
* Please check alternative walking routes for services via Newton and Motherwell.
Customers can travel on alternative routes.
* Glasgow Central to Shotts - Customers can travel on these services for Uddingston and Bellshill.
* Glasgow Central Low Level - Customers can travel on these services for Motherwell
* If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket.
* We have arranged for your rail tickets to be accepted on JMB Buses. Just show your valid ticket or ScotRail smartcard to the bus driver

It will no longer call at Argyle Street, Bridgeton, Dalmarnock, Rutherglen, Cambuslang, Newton Lanark, Blantyre, Hamilton West, Hamilton Central, Airbles and Motherwell.
This is due to a fault on this train.

06:21 Lanark to Glasgow Central due 07:10 will be started from Wishaw.
It will no longer call at Lanark and Carluke.
This is due to a fault with the signalling system.

06:30 Edinburgh to Aberdeen due 08:56 has been delayed at Edinburgh and is now 20 minutes late.
This is due to a fault on this train.

The lifts will be out of order between platform 2 and book office level from now until further notice at Arbroath station.

The escalators will be out of order between the ticket office level and the platforms from 17:18 on 26/02/2026 until further notice at Glasgow Central Low Level station.
Additional Information:
Following the earlier burst water main the escalator between the ticket office and platforms is currently a fixed staircase.
