Due to a fault with the signalling system between Pitlochry and Kingussie fewer trains are able to run on all lines. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Impact:
Train services between Edinburgh and Inverness may be cancelled, delayed or revised.
Customer Advice:
Option 1 - Check if a rail journey is currently possible..
* Use the National Rail Enquiries real-time journey planner to check if you can continue your journey by rail.
Option 2 - Alternative Routes & Local Public Transport..
Customers can travel on alternative routes.
* Edinburgh - Aberdeen - Inverness
* Edinburgh - Perth
* If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket.
* We have arranged for your rail tickets to be accepted on local bus routes at no extra cost.

Additional Information:
* Network Rail have advised they are dealing with a signalling fault in the Dalwhinnie area which is affecting our train services between Perth and Inverness.
* Staff on site have carried out a temporary repair on the signalling system to allow us to run trains again but fewer trains are able to run.
Our 1450 Inverness to Queen St is 245 minutes late and will terminate at Perth.
Our 1731 Edinburgh to Inverness is 64 minutes late
Our 1853 Inverness to Edinburgh is currently 10 minutes late and will terminate at Perth.
Our 1935 Edinburgh to Inverness will run to Inverness. This service departs Perth at 2100.
Our 2021 Inverness to Queen St has departed Inverness 14 minutes late.
Customers can travel on the 1251 LNER service from Peterborough to Inverness.
Any customers who have missed connections to other services please speak to a member of staff.
