Train services running through this station will be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 15:00 04/04.
Customer Advice:
Option 1 - Check if a rail journey is currently possible..
* Use the National Rail Enquiries real-time journey planner to check if you can continue your journey by rail.
Option 2 - Alternative Routes & Local Public Transport..
* If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket.
* Currently, we have arranged for your rail tickets to be accepted on local Stagecoach buses -
* x76 between Kilmarnock and Glasgow until 1600hrs.
Just show your train ticket to the bus driver when boarding the bus
Option 3 - Rail Replacement Transport..
* Currently, we have one bus making its way to Barrhead with an ETA there of 1455, this bus will run to Kilmarnock and then return.
* We continue to try and source more buses for Barrhead and Kilmarnock and will let you know when we have more in place.
Option 4 - Consider travelling later..
* You might wish to consider postponing your journey until our service's return to normal.
Additional Information:
* We have reports of a signalling fault in the Kilmarnock area, meaning we can not run trains between Barrhead and Kilmarnock.
* Staff are on site investigating the issue and as soon as we have more information we will let you know.

Planned engineering work will take place at Carlisle from 00:01, Saturday 04 April 2026 to 23:59, Saturday 04 April 2026, from 00:01, Saturday 11 April 2026 to 23:59, Saturday 11 April 2026, from 00:01, Monday 13 April 2026 to 23:59, Friday 17 April 2026, and from 00:01, Saturday 18 April 2026 to 23:59, Saturday 18 April 2026.
Additional Information:
Engineering work is taking place south of Carlisle. To support cross-border passengers, ScotRail are amending their timetable between Glasgow and Carlisle.
Glasgow Central Kilmarnock, Dumfries & Carlisle
ScotRail services between Glasgow and Carlisle are amended to support cross-border passengers.
Additional rolling stock has been deployed where possible
ScotRail train services are altered as follows:
Saturdays 04, 11 & 18 April
10:13 Glasgow to Carlisle will replace the 10:13 train from Glasgow to Kilmarnock and the 12:01 train from Dumfries to Carlisle
11:11 Carlisle to Dumfries will depart at 11:15 from Carlisle and will run later throughout
13:06 Carlisle to Glasgow will replace the 13:06 train from Carlisle to Dumfries and the 14:59 train from Kilmarnock to Glasgow
14:08 Carlisle to Glasgow will depart at 14:14 from Carlisle
20:10 Carlisle to Glasgow will replace the 19:24 train from Carlisle to Dumfries and the 20:49 train from Dumfries to Glasgow
