expand Alterations to services between Glasgow Central and Wemyss Bay
Due to damage to the overhead electric wires between Paisley St James and Bishopton all lines are closed. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Impact:
Train services between Glasgow Central and Wemyss Bay have been suspended.
Customer Advice:
Option 1 - Check if a rail journey is currently possible..
* Use the National Rail Enquiries real-time journey planner to check if you can continue your journey by rail.
Option 2 - Alternative Routes & Local Public Transport..
* If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket.
* You can use your valid ScotRail ticket on the following bus services
* All McGills buses in the Inverclyde area upto and including Paisley and Glasgow
Option 3 - Rail Replacement Transport..
* Replacement transport requested but there is limited availability due to existing contracts.
* Ticket acceptance is in place but customers should, where possible, to make their own arrangements.
Option 4 - Consider travelling later..
* You might wish to consider postponing your journey until our service's return to normal.
Additional Information:
* We have received reports of damage to the overhead lines between Paisley Gilmour Street and Bishopton.
* We are unable to run train between Glasgow/ Gourock and Wemyss Bay.
* Staff are on site and have assessed there is severe damage to the overhead lines. Once repairs are undertaken it is likely to take engineers the rest of the day to fix.
