4 Line Updates
Following a fire next to the track earlier today between Portlethen and Stonehaven all lines have now reopened. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Impact:
Train services between Glasgow Queen Street and Aberdeen are returning to normal but some services may still be cancelled, delayed or revised.
Customer Advice:
Option 1 - Check if a rail journey is currently possible..
* Use the National Rail Enquiries real-time journey planner to check if you can continue your journey by rail.
Option 2 - Alternative Routes & Local Public Transport..
Customers can travel on alternative routes.
* Glasgow Queen Street/ Edinburgh to Inverness to Aberdeen.
* If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket.
* Your train ticket can be used at no extra cost on the following local bus routes:
* We have very limited availability in place with Citylink buses between Dundee and Aberdeen in both directions.
* Just show your valid ticket or Smart card to the driver when boarding the bus.
Option 3 - Rail Replacement Transport..
* We requested Rail Replacement Transport at Dundee and at Aberdeen to shuttle between calling at stations.
* We have one Ray Cars bus confirmed at Edinburgh at 23:00. This bus will run from Edinburgh to Perth calling at stations, with the exception of South Gyle.
* As we are currently unable to provide any more alternative transport at present, passengers may wish to consider making their own arrangements.
Option 4 - Consider travelling later..
* You might wish to consider postponing your journey until our services return to normal.
