Due to trespassers on the railway earlier today between Blantyre and Newton Lanark:
Impact:
Train services running through these stations are returning to normal but some services may still be delayed. Disruption is expected until 00:30 02/04.
Customer Advice:
Option 1 - Check if a rail journey is currently possible..
* Use the National Rail Enquiries real-time journey planner to check if you can continue your journey by rail.
Option 2 - Alternative Routes & Local Public Transport..
Customers can travel on alternative routes.
* Glasgow to Lanark for stations to Motherwell
* If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket.
* Currently, we have not arranged for your rail tickets to be accepted on local bus routes as yet. We will monitor this situation as the incident develops.
Option 3 - Rail Replacement Transport..
* Currently, we have not requested Rail Replacement Transport. We will monitor this situation as the incident develops.
Option 4 - Consider travelling later..
* You might wish to consider postponing your journey until our services return to normal.

* We have had reports of a trespasser between Newton and Blantyre earlier.
* We have been advised that officers have attended and the person has now been taken to a place of safety.
* We can now run services as scheduled.
* Delays to services may still be ongoing until our staff and trains are back in position.

This is due to a train fault.
This train will now be formed of the usual number of coaches.

Facilities on the 23:17 Dunblane to Edinburgh due 00:17.
This is due to a train fault.
Will be formed of 3 coaches instead of 6.
Additional Information:
Sorry this train has fewer carriages than normal.

02/04/26 10:41 Inverness to Wick due 14:56 will be cancelled.
This is due to a shortage of train crew.
Additional Information:
We have managed to source a replacement transport operated by D&E and MacNeil coaches for this cancelled train.

This is due to trespassers on the railway.

22:57 Edinburgh to Glasgow Central due 00:25 was terminated at Haymarket.
It will no longer call at Slateford, Kingsknowe, Wester Hailes, Curriehill, Kirknewton, Livingston South, West Calder, Addiewell, Fauldhouse, Shotts, Hartwood, Cleland, Carfin, Holytown, Bellshill, Uddingston, Cambuslang and Glasgow Central.
This is due to a train fault.

23:08 Edinburgh to Airdrie due 23:57 has been delayed at Haymarket and is now 9 minutes late.
This is due to a fault on a train in front of this one.

23:12 Edinburgh to Motherwell due 00:22 has been delayed at Slateford and is now 10 minutes late.
