Following a safety inspection of the track earlier today between Dalmally and Tyndrum Lower all lines have now reopened. Disruption is expected until 20:00 23/03.
Impact:
Train services between Glasgow Queen Street and Oban are returning to normal but some services will still be delayed or revised.
Customer Advice:
Option 1 - Check if a rail journey is currently possible..
* Use the National Rail Enquiries real-time journey planner to check if you can continue your journey by rail.
Option 2 - Alternative Routes & Local Public Transport..
* If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket.
* We have limited availability ticket acceptance in place with CityLink buses between Oban and Glasgow in both directions.
* Just show your valid ticket or Smart card to the driver when boarding the bus.
Option 3 - Rail Replacement Transport..
18:24 Queen St to Oban starts at Crianlarich. 1 bus from Queen St operated by Photoflash all stops to Oban.
1 bus from Queen St operated by Abbey Coaches direct to Crianlarich to connect with the 20:20 to Fort William /Mallaig.
Option 4 - Consider travelling later..
* You might wish to consider postponing your journey until our services return to normal.

* Due to a safety inspection of the track between Dalmally and Tyndrum Lower earlier, the line has now re-opened with a 20mph speed restriction.
* Services are returning to run as scheduled, but remain subject to delay and alteration due to units and crews being out of position.

14:39 Glasgow Queen Street to Inverness due 19:39 has been previously delayed, has been further delayed at Arbroath and is now 9 minutes late.
This is due to trespassers on the railway earlier today.

15:44 Inverness to Glasgow Queen Street due 19:23 is being delayed at Perth and is now expected to be 10 minutes late.
This is due to a speed restriction.

18:15 Cumbernauld to Dalmuir due 19:51 will be started from Coatbridge Central.
It will no longer call at Cumbernauld and Greenfaulds.
This is due to a shortage of train crew.

18:15 Aberdeen to Inverness due 20:30 has been previously delayed and is now 13 minutes late from Huntly.
This is due to a train fault.

18:24 Glasgow Queen Street to Oban due 21:27 will be started from Crianlarich.
It will no longer call at Glasgow Queen Street, Dalmuir, Dumbarton Central, Helensburgh Upper, Garelochhead, Arrochar & Tarbet and Ardlui.

We have managed to source replacement coaches, 1 operated by Photoflash which will run from Glasgow Queen St to Oban calling at all stations the other bus operated by Abbey Coaches will run from Glasgow Queen St direct to Crianlarich for passenger travelling to Fort William and Mallaig to connect with the train.
