Following a fire next to the track at Bathgate all lines have now reopened. Disruption is expected until 10:00 19/05.
Impact:
Train services between Helensburgh Central and Edinburgh are returning to normal but some services have been cancelled or revised.
Customer Advice:
Option 1 - Check if a rail journey is currently possible..
* Use the National Rail Enquiries real-time journey planner to check if you can continue your journey by rail.
Option 2 - Alternative Routes & Local Public Transport..
* If you have had to drive to another station your ticket will be valid to collect your car on your return journey. Speak to a member of staff to validate your ticket.
* Currently, we have not arranged for your rail tickets to be accepted on local bus routes as yet. We will monitor this situation as the incident develops.
Option 3 - Rail Replacement Transport..
* Currently, we have not requested Rail Replacement Transport. We will monitor this situation as the incident develops.
Option 4 - Consider travelling later..
* You might wish to consider postponing your journey until our service's return to normal.
Additional Information:
The lineside fire last night (Saturday 18th May) had caused disruption to services. The fire has been extinguished and repairs have been completed meaning we're able to run trains normally again.
The following alterations are in place due to trains being out of position from last night -
0757 Bathgate to Edinburgh will be cancelled
0836 Edinburgh to Helensburgh will start at Livingston North
0904 Edinburgh to Helensburgh will start from Bathgate
1006 Edinburgh to Helensburgh will start from Haymarket (platform 0)

Dumfries Carlisle services
Buses replace trains between Dumfries and Carlisle.
The last service from Carlisle to Glasgow will depart 18:33 as a replacement bus service to Dumfries, where passengers should change onto the 19:50 Dumfries to Glasgow train service.
The 19:12 service will run as a replacement bus to Dumfries.

Planned engineering work will take place between Glasgow Central and Lanark from 05:00, Sunday 19 May 2024 to 23:59, Sunday 19 May 2024, and from 05:00, Saturday 25 May 2024 to 23:59, Sunday 26 May 2024.
